One of the
original pioneers in the commercial large-format
flat panel (LFFP) market, Visual Appliances has over
a decade of development and innovations in the
space. The LFFP industry came into being in the
mid-90s with the introduction of the 42-inch color
plasma display. Within a few years a new industry
began to emerge: Digital Out Of Home (DOOH), as the
new LFFP displays sought to replace static poster
advertising panels that had become the mainstay of
the OOH industry.
At first consumer TV
technology was used because there were no
commercial-grade LFFP systems in existence. Visual
Appliances began development of the first
commercial-grade LFFP products in the late 90s in
response to this vacuum, building a broad suite of
complimentary hardware and software products to
service the DOOH market, and later the OOH market
more broadly.
Some of the company's innovations in the
space include:
· First commercial LFFP
system · First all-in-one LFFP system ·
First LFFP interactive system · First
ADA-compliant LFFP system · First modular LFFP
system · First DOOH media campaign management
technology · First DOOH targeted ad distribution
